Writing Team

This blog has many contributors from within the UU community. Some write a single article, some write monthly or weekly installations, but all put their time and effort into sharing everything from crafts and projects to their experiences coping with life's challenges as a parent. Without these wonderful people contributing their time and talent to our writing team, this blog would simply not be possible.

If you are interested in joining our writing team, whether to contribute a single article or to begin a regular series, please visit our Connect*Contact*Sponsor page to fill out the writing team application.

Series Contributors:
These writers offer articles on a regular basis.

Jennifer Blosser (writing team manager) has been attending the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers for a year and loves everything about it. Like so many others in the church, she believes she has always been a UU at heart, she just didn't know there was a name for it! She has two amazing step-kids and a bouncing baby boy of her own with her husband, Lee Blosser. She is also the author of Crafty Mom 101, a blog about all things crafty and creative in parenting. She hopes to bring her experiences of parenting a multi-faceted family within the UU church to And So Are They to help other UU parents.

Alison Carville has been raised in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers and has watched her 9-year old brother grow up there. She is a junior in college, majoring in Communication, with a Public Relations concentration. This place, and the UU religion, has always made her believe in her own voice, expressing herself, and knowing that the questions she had were always respected. She has always looked out for others, while knowing she is being loved and respected by those people.  She hopes her contributions to this blog, do not divide people’s experiences, but instead opens discussions of multiple views of what family truly means, in and beyond Unitarian Universalism.

Terry Shupe is the RE Director at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers, FL. Partner to a wonderful woman, and "mom" to six cats and two dogs, she lives in her own little slice of paradise. She is wildly passionate about educating, inspiring, and empowering children, thus making her the perfect person for the job! Our of high school, she served in the Navy, traveled the world, returned from "Desert Storm," and marched herself off to college where she realized her love of working with kids. She is excited to be a part of this blog as an extension of this passion and to share her wisdom with UU families all over.

Jennifer Long is a fairly new member to UUCFM, but realized she found a home after her sister passed away a year ago last Mother’s day. That week she came to UUCFM to watch a movie; “Griefwalker” and experienced the genuine caring and support of others present, bringing her to tears with the compassion given to her. She has studied many different religions, therefore UU made total sense to her. The acceptance and open-mindedness was exactly what she had been searching for. Jennifer has lived in Florida for ten years, has an eight year old daughter and a wonderful partner of seven years who also attends UUCFM. Jennifer is a former Addictions Treatment Counselor who is in recovery herself, and a published Writer on addictions for Examiner.com. She recognizes meditation as the most powerful tool one can use in daily life, and looks forward to continuing her spiritual journey and sharing with others at UUCFM.

Rev. Allison Farnum is the minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers.  She has a husband, two cats, and a love affair with singing and dancing and praising life.
